How to choose between double wall adhesive heat shrink tubing and single wall heat shrink tubing?
Single wall: insulated, wear-resistant, inexpensive; Used for ordinary wire harnesses and insulation wrapping.
Double wall adhesive: Hot melt adhesive on the inner wall, fully sealed for waterproofing and moisture resistance after heating; Used for cable joints, outdoor, buried, and high waterproof requirements scenarios.
What are the common shrinkage ratios of heat shrink tubing/heat shrink accessories?
The standard is 2:1 and 3:1; Double wall adhesive is usually in a ratio of 3:1, while thick wall/protective sleeves are commonly in a ratio of 2:1.
Is the product flame retardant? Is it environmentally friendly?
The mainstream model is low smoke halogen-free flame retardant, which meets the requirements of power environmental protection; Cold shrink to silicone rubber (non-toxic and odorless), heat shrink to environmentally friendly polyolefin, suitable for indoor enclosed spaces.
What tests are required for cable accessories? How often do you do it?
Handover test: power frequency withstand voltage, partial discharge, insulation resistance
Daily inspection: infrared temperature measurement, appearance inspection
Periodic testing: once every 1-3 years, and once every 1 year for key circuits.
What is the difference between a rear plug with lightning arrester and a regular rear plug?
Equipped with a built-in zinc oxide lightning arrester, it can directly absorb lightning overvoltage at the connection end to protect cables and equipment inside the cabinet; The ordinary rear plug is only used for insulation connection and does not have overvoltage protection function.
What does flood control touchable plug mean? Can it be soaked in water?
Flood control "refers to the strengthened sealing structure that can operate in a short-term water accumulation environment; 'Touchable' refers to the external shielding grounding and the shell being safe to touch. Allow short-term shallow water immersion (not long-term underwater), suitable for basements, tunnels, and low-lying areas prone to flooding.
What are the main uses of the 10kV detachable front/rear plug?
Mainly used for 10kV ring main unit, cable distribution box, box transformer, European/American cabinet interface, realizing fast, separable, and touchable connection between cables and equipment, with shielding, insulation, waterproof, and flood control design.
Which is better, cold shrinkage or heat shrinkage? How to choose?
Cold shrinkage: Silicone rubber, no need for hot work, uniform shrinkage force, good waterproof and weather resistance, suitable for outdoor/explosion-proof/high-altitude; The price is slightly higher.
Heat shrink: Polyolefin, requires spray lamp heating, high cost-effectiveness, fast construction, suitable for indoor/ordinary distribution network/large quantities.
Selection principle: Outdoor, humid, explosion-proof, priority cold shrinkage for important circuits; Indoor conventional distribution network prioritizes heat shrinkage.
What voltage levels are suitable for cold shrink attachments? What are the specifications?
Common coverage of 10kV and 35kV medium and low voltage main levels; The mainstream specifications include:
- Indoor terminal, outdoor terminal
- Direct/insulated intermediate joint
- Three core/single core matching full series
How many years can cold-shrinkable cable terminals and intermediate connectors generally last?
Qualified silicone rubber cold shrink accessories, with a design life of ≥ 20 years under normal environment and standardized installation; It is recommended to undergo preventive replacement every 15-20 years in outdoor, humid, or salt spray environments.
